Inventures 2019, taking place in Calgary from June 5 to 7, has announced its latest lineup of speakers to be featured at the event.

“Inventures is like a master class for pathblazers,” said Laura Kilcrease the CEO Alberta Innovates, which is putting on Inventures. “We’re reaching across the globe and bringing seasoned entrepreneurs and investors together with local startups and innovators. The creative energy this generates and the doors it opens will fuel our next wave of successful ventures.”

Attendees will be able to network with business leaders, while listening to over 200 entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capital executives speak about their experiences.

There will also be an international pitch competition, where six winners will receive $10,000 in funding, free registration, and access to professional coaching.

The co-founder of Clearbanc and a Dragon on Dragons’ Den, Michele Romanow, will be one of the keynote speakers at Inventures. Romanow started five companies before she turned 33, and through Clearbanc, has given entrepreneurs more than $100 million in funding.

Temple Grandin, a professor at the Colorado State University, is also listed as one of the event’s keynote speakers.

Additional speakers at Inventures 2019 include:

  • Sheelpa Patel, creator of Infiniti Lab for Infiniti Motor Company
  • Scott Ford, leader of global operations for Techstars
  • Emma Weston, CEO and co-founder of AgriDigital
  • Anil Pereira, advisor & board member to companies including Blueshift, Partnerize, Tynker
  • Kristina Miilke, president of Valhalla Angels
  • Inventures Connect, a platform of 30 satellite conferences and workshops running, before, during or after Invetures, also links entrepreneurs with events outside of the conference. Events include the 2019 Oil Sands Innovation Summit from June 3 to 4, the NACO World Angel Investment Summit from June 5 to 7, and the Bridge2Food 13th Plant Based Foods Summit from June 3 to 5.
