The iOS version of Sid Meier’s turn-based strategy game Civilization VI has finally received its first expansion pack ‘Rise and Fall’ as an in-app purchase option.
Like it’s desktop counterparts, the Rise and Fall expansion introduces new gameplay settings like Golden Age, Dark Age, and Heroic Age for players to lead or experiment upon their civilizations.
There is a new city Loyalty system that could bring devastating in-game consequences to players’ managerial incompetence.
Furthermore, it adds nine new leaders, eight new civilizations, eight world wonders, seven natural wonders, four units, and much more to the main game.
Civilization VI’s developer Firaxis Games said that the second expansion called ‘Gathering Storm’ will come to iOS in late 2019.
As the latest entry into the franchise, the original Civilization VI hit the market in 2016 for Windows and macOS platforms. The game later arrived on iOS and Nintendo Switch in 2017 and 2018 respectively. It also has an official Linux v..
Franky Zapata, the creator of Flyboard Air, says he plans to cross the English Channel on July 25th on his jet-powered hoverboard to mark the 110th anniversary of the first airline flight between the United Kingdom and France.
According to The Guardian, Zapata is expected to cross from Sangatte near Calais, France to St. Margaret’s Bay near Dover, United Kingdom in 20 minutes. He will refill halfway in the channel with maritime support.
The Flyboard Air is powered by five mini turbo engines that allow the hoverboard to run autonomously for 10 minutes with speeds of up to 118mph (190km/h). For the channel cross, Zapata is expected to reach 86.9mph (140km/h).
“It’s the realization of a dream,” says Zapata to Le Parisien. “It won’t be easy at all and I reckon I’ve a 30 percent chance of succeeding.”
Zapata claimed that this flight had been approved by the civil aviation authority but not so much by the maritime authorities, whose official explains that stationing a refueling ship in the m..

This is a story about sleep. Well, to be more accurate, it’s actually a story of sleep’s rise to e-commerce greatness.
Once relegated to echo-filled big box stores in sleepy suburban strip malls, mattress shopping has somehow become an exciting task, quietly shedding its chore status over the past half-decade. Constantly in search of a good night’s rest, many shoppers now giddily compare different brands, relying heavily on reviews and word of mouth as the main guides pointing towards the most reliable purveyors of waking up rested.
In Canada, there is one particular name that has risen above the deluge of competitors. Endy is a mattress-in-a-box brand—a packaging model that has earned its own subsegment of the market—founded in 2015, and in the four years since has engineered incredible growth.
Co-founders Rajen Ruparell and Mike Gettis set out to create a made-in-Canada company focused on sleep that offers uncompromising quality and convenience. If the term ‘mattress-in-a-box’ wer..
Google’s Material Theme is finally making its way to the Docs, Sheets and Slides apps months after Google Drive received the facelift on mobile and web.
The refreshed Docs, Sheets, and Slides apps sport the familiar Material Theme, which displays the top bar and most of the app in plain white. Along with the heavy use of white, Google centred the ‘Docs’ title and added its Google Sans font and four-colour logo. The search and ‘Open document’ folder icon remain in the top bar.
The redesign rounds the corners of all the files listed in each app as well. It also shows if multiple people are connected to a file with a helpful little icon.
The Floating Action Button (FAB) located at the bottom right of the app now has a similar colour palette to that of the Google logo. Tapping it reveals shortcuts for ‘New document’ and ‘Choose template.’ Interestingly, Google didn’t re-theme the icons to match the iconography throughout its Material Theme apps. Instead, Docs, Sheets and Slides feature the..
